Apart from the BBQ huts, the carports and one clad log cabin with 34 mm wall sections, the kits are built the same way: 44 mm tongue-and-groove wall logs laid log on log, numbered structural parts, and 18 mm boards for the roof and, where there is one, the floor. External windows and doors are an option, made up as finished units on the models that offer them. The footprint and the option list are what change.

Who it is for

One kit,
four different reasons.

Most kits use the same 44 mm wall logs, laid the same way. What changes is why you are building it.

Kit prices only. Delivery is not included.

Questions

The questions that
come up first.

Short answers. Where we do not know something yet it says so, rather than guessing.

What actually turns up on the day

Wall logs of 44 mm spruce or pine, tongue-and-groove and cut to length; the BBQ huts are built differently, the carports have no log walls, and the 11.8m x 4m log cabin has 34 mm wall sections. The structural parts are numbered, and the same number appears in the parts list and on the drawings; some of the material comes by the metre and is cut to size on site. You also get 18 mm floor and roof boards (25 mm on the 11.8m x 4m log cabin and the carport roofs) and treated floor bearers on the models with a floor, internal doors on the models that have them, the fixings, and step-by-step instructions, drawings and a parts list for your model. External windows and doors come with the arched glamping pods and the BBQ huts, and are priced as an option on the other models that offer them, so check that line on the product page before you order. It all comes on pallets, and the lorry has no crane: you unload with a forklift or a telehandler.

Is the price on the product page the price I pay

No, and we would rather say that here than at the checkout. The price on the product page buys the kit itself. Roof covering, windows and doors, guttering, insulation and a terrace floor are priced separately, and which of them a model offers varies. The base and the paint are yours: we sell neither. In proportion, the jump is largest on the summer houses: one starts at €1,520 and reaches €6,270 with every option ticked, the dearest roof and windows included, while the six BBQ huts have nothing to add at all. The product page keeps a running total as you pick. Delivery comes on top.

Do I need builders, or can I do this myself

You can do it yourself: apart from the BBQ huts and the carports, the walls go up log on log, in the order the instructions give. Nothing is welded and nothing needs mortar. Up to 40 m², two people usually put a kit up in 3 to 4 days; larger buildings take three or four people 2 to 3 days. Those days cover the shell only, with the roof covering and finishing to follow. The assembly page shows how the walls go up, using the drawings of one of our models, and the full instructions for your model come with the kit. If you would rather not build it yourself, a carpenter can work from the same instructions.

Do I need planning permission

It depends on your plot, your local authority and how close to the boundary the building sits, so no kit seller can answer it for you. Take the footprint and, where the product page gives it, the ridge height to your local planning authority before you order. Our planning guide goes through the rules.

Is the building insulated

Not as standard. On the models that offer it, 100 mm insulation for the roof and, on some models, the walls is priced line by line, with floor insulation priced separately; where a kit has a floor, the bearers leave space for it. The 11.8m x 4m log cabin is offered with one insulation pack instead. A 44 mm wall without insulation makes a building for the warmer months. Glamping pods can be insulated on request, with no fixed price. We publish no thermal figures.

How do I pay

Add the kit and its options to your basket and place the order at checkout. You pay by bank transfer, either the full amount or a 50% deposit with the balance due when your kit is ready. When it is ready, we email you the delivery invoice, with the balance if you paid a deposit, and you pay both in one transfer. The full terms are on the delivery and payment page.

When does it arrive and what does delivery cost

Allow 8 to 10 weeks from the day your payment reaches us until delivery: that is an estimate, counting production and the time on the road. The kit travels by road on pallets, and the lorry has no crane, so you need a forklift or a telehandler on site on the day. There is no delivery price list: delivery is priced for your kit and address and invoiced separately when your kit is ready, and the delivery and payment page gives guide prices for several countries.

What if something is missing or damaged

We replace a missing or damaged part free of charge and send it within 2 weeks. Check the pallets against the parts list before you start: that is what the list is for. The timber structure carries a 10-year warranty, and our terms of sale explain how to claim under it.
